Pat Harm
My name is Pat Harm. I was born in Pennsylvania while my dad was doing post graduate work. When he received his doctorate, we moved to the Chicago area where my mother’s music education degree was put to use in teaching private piano. I started with her and then studied with another teacher when I hit middle school. I also took French Horn and was in many choirs in middle school and high school. I was also the accompanist for the high school choir as well as helping out with the music program at my church. I graduated from Morningside and got married. My husband’s job required many transfers throughout the years and while I was raising 3 sons, I taught private piano. I’m now retired and back in Sioux City and continuing my work in music. I’ve played at several area churches for their services as well as accompanying choirs. Currently I accompany the choir at First Methodist United Methodist church and am the accompanist for the Saturday services at Grace United Methodist Church. I’ve been with the Music Academy at First for many years and I love working with kids as they discover their love of music.
